Kyle Busch
Kyle Busch is not one for shadows and having an older brother that is a NASCAR champion was not going to sway him from this notion. Kyle is the prototypical racing phenom. Put him in it, make it work and he will drive it faster than other people. The younger Busch began his career young. Perhaps the only thing that prevented a 16 year-old Kyle Busch from being a NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Championship contender was the NASCAR rulebook. However until he turned eighteen there was plenty of track and competition to chew up in other circuits from his hometown of Las Vegas to back tracks of the Carolinas.
During his minor series run, Busch was a menace in the Legend Car Series in the late nineties taking two Vegas track Championships and getting noticed for his prowess. Kyle then wasted no time bursting on to the NASCAR schedule. Signing with Hendrick Motor sports, Busch started first in the Craftsman Truck Series and then graduated to the Busch Series where he got his first win at Richmond in 2003 and took Rookie of the Year honors in 2004. His five victories and stunning 16 top 5 finishes stamped his ticket to go run with the big boys of the Nextel Cup Series. In 2005 Busch ran on NASCAR's top stage and blew critics right out of their seats. He racked up two wins, was in the top 10 an incredible 13 races and finished 20th in the points standings at season's end. These accomplishments also gave Busch the Rookie of the year award for the second year in a row, this time in Nextel Cup.
Kyle Busch is aware of his brother Kurt's success and the two share a great bond in the sport. However, Kyle has made it plain for all to see that sitting in the backseat is not his style and watching the two battle to outperform the other as well as the rest of the NASCAR field will be a treat for years to come.
